H3 Transfer Case - BW 4494 (4:1 Low)
As I stated in my introduction, I spent several years as a technician for a major transfer case manufacturer. With that said, I often pick up good cores when they become available and go through them to be sure that the internals are okay and then re-sell them in order to make some side money. All of the replacement parts used are factory GM pieces....not some aftermarket items.
Right now I have a BW4494 transfer case that came from a 2006 Hummer H3 with just over 12k miles on it. The unit would not shift out of 4HI Lock. Upon teardown, the mode fork (OEM plastic) was found to be the culprit. I replaced the mode fork with the new improved GM service replacement design (aluminum) along with the mode collar and drive sprocket bushing. All of the other components were thoroughly inspected and cleaned prior to reassembly. Please note however that one of the wire leads for the actuator is slightly chafed - an easy repair with some shrink tube - but I did not repair this item as I intended to leave it up to the buyer.
This is a great replacement part to have on hand for those of you who like to go off-roading and would be a great upgrade (4.10:1 4LO ratio) for those of you who have the standard BW4493 with the standard 2.64:1 4LO ratio.
Asking $700 OBO.
