H3 Misfire
We got the H3 back from the dealer and tore into it. The valves were leaking, the cams and roller followers were pitted like they were under water for a while and there were grooves worn into the cams. I got a rebuilt cylinder head from Clearwater Cylinder Head. Got it back together and have a code P0017, exhaust cam position- crank position correlation error. Is it possible for the cam phaser to go bad from not being bolted to the cam while I was waiting for the cylinder head? I locked the crank in place and used a tensioner holding tool to lock the tensioner in place. I used paint marks on chain and gears and assembled the way it came apart. I need to get this fixed. Give me an idea what to do next.
you probably need to replace the
or the head was shaved too much throwing things out of whack. but if you have a good scanner try doing a crank variation relearn first.
