The driver's side door on my 2008 H3 recently started making a grinding noise once it hit a certain point when opening and closing. Looked at it a few different times, sprayed some WD-40, but then finally saw that the end of the door check that's attached to the body (not the end that goes into the door) is cracked and entirely separated. Posted a pic of the crack below Does anyone have experience with replacing the entire piece? Looks like it's just two bolts but you have to remove the entire door panel to thread the hinge end through the door frame. And also, I'm not sure which door check to even buy for my 2008. GMPartsDirect says it does not fit but the same part number on wholesalegmparts says it does fit.
Can anyone confirm the GM part number for the 2008 model? This is what I've found:
