Hey everyone! I bought a 2008 Hummer H3 Alpha with ~160K miles and the transfer case is literally shattered 😂. Replacements seem to be EXPENSIVE! Also, I'm seeing that there are different types? I'm hoping I can get away with buying one from a base model since they are cheaper. Does anyone know if I can make that work? I don't need it to be super durable, I don't plan on doing much offroading with it right now, I just need it to function. Any help would be appreciated!!

What Model is your 2008 Alpha (Alpha, Off Road, Lux or X)? The Off Road came with a lower gear ratio (rock crawler) model 4494 Transfer Case. The basic BorgWarner T Case model 4493 has a 2.64 low-gear ratio and the 4494 has a 4.1 low-gear ratio.

Guessing you do not have the Off Road package so just find a BorgWarner model 4493. They fit any year H3/H3T. Since you do not plan on wheeling, you do not need the lower range T Case.
