The module is under the center console on the floor #9 below.

If you are just getting an occasional air bag fault light, you can clear the BCM by placing the vehicle in Neutral, engine running, put one foot on the brake and hold it there, push the Emergency brake on with the other foot and release it, repeat the E brake and release 5 times fairly quickly. If the light stays off, it was a glitch. Happens to mine a few times a year.

Wow, Doc, you amaze me sometimes. Where the hell did you come across such an obscure piece of knowledge? And does that "procedure" work to clear all BCM fault codes, or only the air bag faults?

Well.......... thank you. If you ask me, I'm amazing all the time.

I grew up in the NE suburbs of the Motor City, had big three execs, line workers and dealership owners/employees all living on my street (that's another story on how America has changed). I have always wanted to know how stuff works, and I have a brother-in-law and 2 high school buddy's working at the GM Tech Center and a bunch of friends there. I get some inside scoop when I want it.

There are many GM software shortcuts John Q Public never hears about.

The E Brake clear works on BCM fault light, it may or may not actually clear a BCM code depending on what it is, it will not reboot/clear a BCM problem from a short or flash based corruption.

I tried to reset it with the e brake like you suggested but had no luck. My buddy did a scan on it and came up with a code 1000

Check the connection under the passenger seat first. Sometimes stuff gets shoved under it and effects the sensors.

Interesting, as I was told by someone that's supposed to know, that it was under the passenger seat. But there ya go.
