Okay, so...

I notice in the glovebox, there's this hole area on the top right. COuld that have been where GM MAY have intended to put a glove box light and I wonder if that would be a good place to put a switch in there for one???

I don't know what the unused hole could have been used for. My 2010 doesn't use it. It looks like a good place for a switch.

@Broken Halo I have a dome light by the sunroof switch already. You're 2008 didn't have one? I can't believe it would be an option, especially since my base Base has it.

 

They didn't start putting a dome light in that position until 2009.

 

No glove box light in my 2009 H3 Alpha.

 

I don't need light in my glovebox, however I installed

8" LED motion sensor lights

in my 2'x2'x8' pantry, that lights up each shelf+++ and only turn on when I open the door and shutoff within seconds after I close the door(no motion detected). Thin low profile bright light, with a strong magnetic light case that includes strong adhesive stick on metal plates. USB 5v to recharge.

 

No glove box or center console light in any H3's that I'm aware of. I believe that the overhead light at the sunroof switch showed up on the 2009/10 only. My 2008 Alpha didn't have one, so I added one (from eBay).
