Default Front End Work

Just incase you're not doing anything, you can come by and throw a hand my way.

One shop said the rack and pinion needed to be replaced (bad bushings), $700 plus labor. Went for a second opinion only needed inner tie rods, both said needed upper control and lower ball joints. Both hit me up for about 1k for parts and labor hushed me over the edge.

So I went shopping on the net and sourced what was needed.
All RockAuto parts except the steering rack mount kit.

1. Mayhem Metal Works, steering rackmount kit, $200. May not need need it depends on what we see once dig in some.
2. Upper Control Arm w/ Ball Joint, MOOG RK621676 and RK621675 R-Series; Complete , $102 ea.
3. Lower Ball Joint, Moog K500250, 2 at $47 ea.
4. Cam Bolt Kit, Moog K100026, 2 sets at $20 ea.
5. Inner Control Rod, 16 mm, Moog EV800609, 2 at $26 ea.
6. Outer Control Rod, Moog ES800762, 2 at $27 ea.

$600+/- in parts even if I end up using the rack mount kit. Not too bad of a hit. Shop want $500 to install without the rack mount kit, another $250 if it's used.

Use the rack mount. The factory mount is a weak point and allows movement of the entire rack making it next to impossible to properly align the front end correctly. While I prefer the Outfitter Design bracket and bushing kit over the Mayhem (just a bracket) either will work. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THE BOLTS! You can squeeze the cylinder and cause the piston inside to not move smoothly.

Stock bushing and clamp checked out there is a small amount of rack movement but nothing out of the norm. I got a filling the first shop was trying to pull one over on me.
