Hey everyone! Just joined this forum, but have owned my H3 since new. Overall it's been good to me, and now as the miles rack up- 168K- some things are starting to wear out. Latest is Front Diff Pinion Bearing. I'm visiting my Dad who is quite ill, in Florida and driving down here it started roaring. Shop I know here in Jacksonville doesn't have the tools to fix it, so Monday I start looking for a shop that can. Any suggestions, or even any experiences with the same problem?

 

Go to a ring and pinion or drivetrain specialist shop.

Conversely, with a few hours of work you could tear it down and replace the bearings and races yourself. Not rocket science. I've done it before and it takes lots of patience and basic shop tools.
