Default Forged Pistons for the 3.7?

I asked this in my 3.7 to LH8 swap survey thread, but felt a new thread would be better served, and I did not find anything with a search.

Anyway, as I have one chipped edge piston (never heard or seen that happen before with a non modified vehicle myself), and plan a complete rebuild while its out, and would like to upgrade the Pistons while I'm at it with forged units. Anyone know of off the shelf Pistons? I'll go custom made if needed I guess.

Thanks for the link. I tried sending him a PM but I apparently do not have permissions to do so (new member?). Nice build. Love the front bumper.

I think you have to have so many posts for the PM thing to be allowed. I forget the number, maybe 10-25? IDK

Is it possible for someone to send him a PM and ref this thread for me?

What's up guys, for the rebuild I did ibwent with mahle/clevite. Pistons took the factory and sent them to cp pistons. They do full reverse analysis, not sure if people know this but they do the oem pistons for Porsche. They are made by cp. Factory rods hold decent I just had mine balanced. It will be very hard to find everything but if you're serious I have all the part numbers.

I really appreciate your response. Did you use stock piston size, or did you have to go 1 or 2 over? If not, they may have the sizing/design still on hand. Also, do you recall the cost of the custom Pistons and the turn around time? As I will not be doing any performance enhancements to this motor, (just don't want to deal with another fractured piston), Is there an off the shelf piston that's less prone to such fracturing, or is custom forged the only real option here? The thin crown on these oem Pistons is a terrible design, considering it's a high torque truck motor, even at five cylinders.

Any info you can provide would be very helpful. BTW, fantastic H3 build.
