Default First NYS Inspection went okay...

Inspection went well, really. 50% wear in front brakes (I expected) and in the way there I had low coolant. OBD read good temp but the bottle was low so it tripped the AC OFF command and threw a P0128 code. Never ran out on the way to inspection and I never lost heat. But the windows did get foggy, only because it is 40° and raining. I sent a photo and explained to the dealer (167 miles away) and they said top it off and keep an eye on it... so did the inspector and he knows a bit about these things. All the guys at our local Monroe are off-road people and nobody gave me crap for it. Anyway, hoping this is more about s burp than a leak. No coolant smell, no water in the oil.

New rear leaves but front is resting on the bump stops. All original shocks, so new shocks, torsion bar adjustment, and alignrnt are in order. If the coolant is a non-issue, then I'm happy. Any suggestions for shocks? I'm thinking Bilstein?

It may be a small leak @ the radiator. ALL plastic radiators can get a pinhole leak that only becomes present when the coolant reaches a higher temp.

AC OFF is another entirely different ball of wax. If you read the owners manual it will tell you the reason for the AC OFF.

I was topping off coolant for almost a year and ended up with transmission rebuild + broken radiator.
Shop that changed trans oil and changed coolant told me it is fine until I went to other shop.

AC OFF will also occur if the temp sensor glitches; that happens to mine occasionally and it sets the P0128 code.

Front end is supposed to be resting on the bump stops unless your torsions are cranked up to level the truck; they are actually designed that way.

Common problem with I5s is a leaky radiator and/or the need to replace the T Stat. A bunch of us here have done one, or both, makes a mess, but not a difficult job and the T Stat is cheap. Lots of info on both here and on line.
