Looks interesting. How hard is the install on a thermostat on the H3?

Is that for a I5 engine?

Thanks.

Made my own integrated thermostat housing for I 5 engine, tig welded 180 fail-safe thermostat #7203-180 to dodge water outlet #902-318. You could have just atv cemented the thermostat to a gasket with under size hole in center it fits into the housing so well it flushes out with the flange. Since I had access to tig welder it was nicer to just tack welded it together. My 2007 truck has original hard to get 180 thermostat working fine but it's old. Truck runs at 190 degrees according to tech 2. At only 40000 miles both front wheel bearings were starting to go needed to grease them Thu abs sensor holes to stop them from failing. Don't trust anything on this truck that's getting old GM has taken the time to figure how to make things fail after awhile. That... 113 thermostat is a ticking time bomb. Have to peel off drivers side fender lining to access thermostat looks like a **** off. Rather tackle it at my leisure than wait for it to fail and get stuck along highway. Have put Holden lions on hummer steering wheel and front and back Aussie GMC my hummer Australia GM is Holden.

Fail-safe not ac-delco. Love it how the trolls come out of wood work to tell you to STFU in this forum. My dad was a Buick mechanic for thirty years his knowage of gmc was extensive. Buy a Chinese tech 2 they are just as good as ones dealer has and at three hundred dollars with three year warranty could not beat it. GM last tech 2 was made in China and at thousand dollars with one year warranty think the three hundred dollars with three year warranty was deal of lifetime. Tech 2 was 600 dollars three year warranty on the web site but same people were selling tech 2 on eBay for 300 dollars so I ask them if they would honor their web site three years warranty they said it would be honored even though paid 300 dollars. Will help anyone with these look it's a hummer trucks. My Tonka toy.
Looking to buy air struts and weld fitting to them use on my h3 hummer at like 600 dollars for a pair from Fox racing almost fell over lol. With air struts can run two lines to armrest compartment have front to back shock adjustment. Take 🚗 car oops care :-)

To many issues with your post and I cut to deal with this part, and I can only hope that nobody takes your advice!!!!:
#1- It's your Father's Truck! (why are you destroying it?)
#2-OEM thermostat is 195 degrees
#3-You will not be able to properly seal the thermostat housing, when you weld the thermostat to the housing
#4-You weakened the thermostat housing by welding it causing distressed points to the housing.
#5-Replacing the thermostat may be a difficult task to you, however you will also have to replace the coolant each time to try to seal, that "contraption". Plus,if your weld breaks loose and travels through the coolant system, causing blockage in the coolant system, you will eventually overheat and cause engine damage.
#6-"Failsafe" thermostats are a scam!

The thermostat on your Father's truck is running cold,("truck runs at 190 degrees"), due to the fact that it's stuck open!
Yes, that is correct, the thermostat fails in the open position!

I had to replace my t-stat a few years ago, not because it overheated, because the engine temp was to low!

I just had to come back and address this bs!
Hub bearings are sealed units and never need greased!

"both front wheel bearings were starting to go needed to grease them"

Again, Hub bearings are sealed units and never need greased!

"Starting to go"

Grease won't repair the damage to the wheel bearings!

My '07 with over 90k miles still has the ORIGINAL hub bearings, and I NEVER greased them!

You may ask: What causes an OEM hub bearing to fail?

I know, SIDE IMPACT DAMAGE!

I've replaced thousands of wheel bearings over the years, and I have also replaced OEM, that lasted over 200k miles. I have asked questions to the customer, when I tell them they needed a new hub bearing. Main question, "have you ever hit a curb"? Yes, has been a very popular answer.
What happens when you drive into a curb? Your hub is no longer going straight as intended, and damage occurs, the bearings are not true and start binding, grinding, overheating, wearing, etc.
GREASE WILL NOT SUBSTITUTE THE SHRAPNEL COMING FROM THE BEARINGS!
You, just keep wasting your time greasing your Father's H3 bearings through the abs sensors and spend less time posting bs on this site.

In dead, no grease will help, just replace them. Had to replace both, sidekicks in the mud and rocks damaged them after 100K Km. A few hours job with de grip oil and it's done
