Default Faulty Seat Belt Indicator and Chime

Good day all.

I am receiving periodic faulty seat belt alarms and chimes in my 2007 H3. It seems to occur randomly while driving.

If you have any ideas for troubleshooting, please let me know.

I appreciate you!

Matt

My chimes have been doing the same thing since I installed an after market radio.= I've learned live with the chimes, coming on once in a while... It does no bother me.

If you installed an aftermarket radio and used an adapter, the adapters make the chime and can short thinking the chime is being called for when it is not.

Meanwhile, clean the seatbelt buckles, crud can cause issues as well.

Doc Olds= Correct!! I used the GM adapter for the Monsoon system , it chimes randomly for 3-4 seconds , maybe once a day.
I will clean the seat belt buckles

Buckle(S)? Does this happen when you are the only one in the H3, or does it ONLY happen when you have a passenger in the RF front seat? Do you also get the warning light on the dash with the chimes?

HUMMERZ
It makes the chime noise with me the only one in the H3 , no passenger----
-No warning light on dash, just a 3-4 second of chime
randomly in the middle of a drive.

Like I said ,the chime started after I installed an aftermarket stereo- to install the stereo, I used the
GM adapter for the Monsoon system

So you don't get the dashboard light, as the OP posted?

Alrighty then, not the seat belt buckle. Could be 1 of the door jamb switches, or you have a CRAPPY AZZED ADAPTER?
BTW, I don't get that annoying chime ANYTIME when I drive, with All doors closed & seat belt attached.

If you can't figure it out, simply disconnect the DRIVERS DOOR SPEAKER(CHIME SPEAKER)!
