Default Engine shuts down while driving at random times

I have a 2008 H3 Alpha and i was driving on the expressway and the engine died and then started back up. I went to work and later when i left i was driving for about a few minutes and engine died again. I couldnt get it to start so i had it towed to a mechanic. They call me in the morning and said it started fine. They let it run for 30 min and still ran. I go pick it up and it fires right up. I then drive a few blocks away and it dies. I tow it to another mechanic and he starts it the next day and it runs for 2hrs and he shuts it down. They are stumped on this issue and think its a fuel pump.

Here is what i know.

There are no diagnostic codes.
I did replace the battery terminals a while ago with ones recommended on this site.
I thought it was the Passlock system but the light doesnt blink its solid then goes off.
A month ago i replaced the Intermediate steering shaft.

Could this still be a fuel pump issue even though it ran for 2 hrs?
If it is a crank or cam shaft sensor would that trigger a code?

Is there something under the steering wheel that could be shorting when im hitting bumps and cause the car the engine to stop?

Im wondering if the AutoMate AM7 Remote starter could be causing this also.

Anyone ever run into this situation?

Was the remote starter installed before you bought it? Do you know where? This is a very possible culprit, but it could be electrical as well so try tracing the ignition circuit for harness integrety. Inspect the remote wiring as well, maybe it has a poor or corroded connection.

thanks for the reply.

The alarm / Remote starter was originally installed at the Dealer when the truck was purchased brand new in 2008. About 5 or so years ago i replaced the main unit of the Automate as it was causing my battery to drain. When i was on the side of the road i managed to disconnect the main connector to the Automate but it was too hard to remove the other connections as i was worried about getting clipped by traffic.

Thanks for the update. Got the exact same problem with my 08 Alpha. I will check the fuel pump ground wire.

Was the ground wire broken, loose, or corroded?

Just catching up here - fuel pump ground wire was my first thought. On my 09 Champ the ground wire at the frame cross member was completely corroded when I bought it. A gentle tug on the wire was all it took and the wire came free. The stud itself was so corroded that I was never able to remove it from the frame. I ended up cutting the wire back to good copper and then extending/relocating the harness to a more protected location on a different point on the frame. The factory location is about as directly exposed to road grime/salt as you can get.

completely corroded. I touched it and it fell off. I had to grind a new spot and reconnect it.
