EASYGUARD EC003 Smart Key PKE Passive Keyless Entry Car Alarm System engine start but
Personally, I would not add ANY aftermarket remote start, alarm or any other items that have to do with the ignition system. It's just asking for trouble...
Maybe I just got lucky. Had a Clifford/Viper model 420.4X remote start/keyless entry with a PassLock Interface Module professionally installed about 8 years ago. Never a problem.
While on the forums, you do hear from people with issues created by aftermarket alarm/remote start ignition interface system, that is probably because they are stopping by looking for help and info because of those issues. I too would stay away from that stuff.
Not many stop in and say "Hi all, my aftermarket alarm works great for years w/o issue. Just wanted to throw that out there." .... of course there is Broken Halo.
Happy for you Broken Halo. I have purchased two H3's locally to flip that were "sick" from added devises. One wasn't too bad to get straightened out for resale and the other was a nightmare making it difficult to break even on resale. Only one of the guys in our little group of H3 lovers has an active system. He keeps a spare key in his wallet. Sometimes, if he steps out while it is idling on the trail and he closes his door, it will lock him out and kill the engine. I guess it triggers "passlock" or something because it will not start for ten to fifteen minutes.
I'm guessing the key to my success was the correct Passlock Interface Module. There are probably a lot of 'installers' that either aren't aware of the need for this, or used the wrong type.

As I said, installation was 8 years ago and I see the Clifford's been discontinued. I'm sure if you contact them there's a new model that will work just as well. Good luck.
