Default Driveshaft difference.

Hey guys,
I've already learned so much from this site and this is my first time posting my own question..so thanks for all help in the past.
So my current situation is this...
2006 H3 5cyl
5 SPD manual trans

My front prop shaft CV boot had given out. I replaced the complete assembly and not a month later I notice a slight noise from that area. Well that boot had torn. Luckily it was under warranty and they gladly replaced it. So I go to install the second one, but it seems really short. After wrestling with it and checking circlips, reinstalling. It seems to fit. I start the truck, put it in gear and ...... clunk clunk..I can see it move on the CV end but not the u joint end. That's where I'm at now due to weather.. My question...Is there a difference between
the driveshaft on a manual and automatic?
I've looked all over and can find no reference to it anywhere.
and unfortunately they took my core on the first purchase.
Please any input is good input. I'm at a loss
Thanks

NO difference that I have ever seen. I have owned I5/maunal and V8*/Auto.
The drive shaft (rear) is the same length from the Tcase to the diff. The Prop Shaft (front) is the same length from the Tcase to the diff.

Thanks. Now to figure out what is going on. I guess I could have gotten 2 bad assemblies.
question.. if it was shifted from neutral to a gear while I was under it trying to connect it back, could that have caused it not to fully engage?
I did have to pull(extend) the shaft together it to seat correctly. Wonder if that did something.

Not sure what you are saying in bold?
You do have to compress the shaft to remove it and extend it to install it.
Could depend on the manufacturer of the replacement part also.
They may have really short boots on their prop shaft CVs.

My question is, what brand replacement shaft did you use?

All H3 shafts (front/rear & AT/MT) are the same. All brands are not created equal.

Cheap is cheap for a reason my Grandad always said. I would suspect that is where your issue comes from.

I would do new ACDelco or an aftermarket from Fort Wayne Clutch & Driveline.

I really appreciate you telling me your Granddads common saying. Fortunately you were not correct with that lazy answer. Even a "cheap" one should last longer then 3 minutes.
The only reason I went with big box store is because of availability of the complete unit.
For anyone else that might have this problem. It turned out that the front diff mount had failed. So I replaced the mount alone (not the bracket) for less the $100 in less then 1 hour.
Anyway Thanks for the relevant info from everyone else.

Which diff mount failed? There are 3.
Cross-member bushing (rear), Left and Right differential mount bracket bushings (front).
If one failed the other 2 took a lot of abuse. Might want to replace the other 2.
