Drive around without "Transfer Case-Actuator Shift Motor".
Hello and goo day!
Hummer H3x, 2007.
Can I drive around without "Transfer Case-Actuator Shift Motor"?
I recently got this car and of course actuator motor is not working.
Where it is connected to transfer case, there is corrosion and looks like small pieces are falling off from transfer case.
I want to take it off, clean that place up and treat with something, and see if I can salvage it/rebuild, but don't want to be grounded meanwhile.
Best case scenario is to take it off, cover that protruding bit with some gunk(or not needed) while I look for solutions to repair motor or find replacement.
Clean the mounting area with a small wire brush with the actuator in place. Buy the correct replacement and swap it out. Check the wiring and connector to the actuator, clean the connector with electrical contact cleaner.
Whatever you are thinking needs to be re-done is not the mounting surface for the TC Shift controller. In other words, replace the broken part, no need to drive with an open transfer case while you worry about addressing something that you are not going to correct by smearing glue/epoxy/gunk on it.
