Default The dreaded p0442 code

Alright guys here it is. The check engine light came on in my.hummer h3 and I'm having trouble fixing it. Took it and ran the code which came back to a p0442 code which was a small evap leak. Mechanic thought he fixed and the light went off for a week and it came back on. Took it back again and a smoke machine was run through it to which nothing could be found. We replaced the gas cape and cleaned the filler point. Still the light won't go off.

ANY SUGGESTIONS?

When was the last time you replaced the fpm? Give it a touch/sniff test.

Why are you asking us to help when you have a "mechanic." Me thinks you need a different repair facility. One that has a person capable of making diagnosis of the problem.

Pardon me, but I did not see anywhere that you mentioned changing the vent valve solenoid.
