DON'T BUY: hinge-pin Doorman 38409
I'm doing a complete restore on my Hummer h3 2006. I painted the whole thing, change the fuel pump, rebuild rocker panels, new upper control arm, bearings and etc. You get the picture.
I'm basically done, I just need to put back the hood and the doors and I can't finally drive around.
Do you want to know what is the only problem I encounter? Freakin door pins from Doorman. You may ask why the door pins are such a problem. I manage to install the bushing without the mushroom effect, that's not a problem.
The problem is they don't fit in the bottom part of the hinge. Ya! they don't fit!! They are way off the spec.
It lifts the door nearly a 1/4 inch upward. There is a huge gap with the rocker panel protectors. Can't close the door, even if I could, it won't fit with the gap of the fender. (I'm not supposed to shim a fender because of door pins...common!). So on one door, I changed both pins and the door is now floating in the sky, 420 and whatnot. The other door is a 1/4 inch off at the bottom since the top pin is still an original.
The result: it cut the fresh paint on both my A-pillars and door hinge. (So I need to blend my A-pillars... 80$ paint.
The worst is that I have to remove and install the doors on my own. I don't know if you guy knows, but those doors weight a ton.
It's not a big deal if your Hummer is in a medium shape, but it's a huge deal after you invest a lot of time and money.
Save yourself, order straight from GM!

I'm not sure what I'm looking at. Is it the top of the pin (in the pics) that is too big to fit into a hole? If so, it appears that they are a bit "mushroomed"; perhaps shave them a bit on a bench grinder to fit? Or am I completely wrong in how the pins go/are oriented? Sorry, I'll have to take a look at mine when I get home to get a better feel for what the problem is.
