Default Differences between H3 models?

Posted this in newbie area with no succsess.

Anyway, just bought a new/used 2007 and when you look up the VIN it says it is a base model. It has every option available that it they came with a build date of 5/07 (per Lynch Hummer). They say they think it is what is called a Luxury plus Adventure package but I can't find any information on such a model. I see Base, X, Luxury, Adventure and Alpha. I believe the Alpha's came out in 08.

Mine has the top off road lights, electronic locking rear and had the 3 ply sidewall tires.

Nice truck!

I believe that in 2007 there would have been no differentiation between models by the VIN. All models had the same drivetrain. Now there will be two possible VIN versions due to the Alpha V8.

I think the way the 2007 models were defined yours would be a Luxury package, with the optional offroad suspension package. Nice combination, there were never very many like that at the dealers in Houston.

Thanks.

That's what Lynch Hummer said too... They were happy to see it. He said that they have not seen too many of the way mine is setup. Remember Lynch Hummer is supposed to be the largest Hummer dealer in the world! You wouldn't know that if you visited their lot. I had a key made and my FOB reprogrammed yesterday. I think they were working on more Hummers than what they had for sale on the lot. They only had a handful of new inventory. Their building is top notch.

Just FYI... I know it's and old tread, and you probably don't even have the Hummer any more but, there are differences in the Hummers 3's in that and all years. Base models are bare boned, non-crome 265/75/16 thires and wheels, cloth seats, no sub woofer, or sliding moonroof, Luxury packeage, has all that stuff but with the Monsoon system. Adventure has one extra button next to the traction control button, which is the locking rear diff, and it comes with larger tires as well, I believe they are 285/70/16. You can get the Advernture package with the bare minimum too if you like... Then of course you have the Alpha, with all different type of packages as well, but all alphas are 5.3ci V8.
As far as the off road lights on top, that is not factory, that's an after market add on. I do like the way they look though and would love to have one, just not for the price they are asking for it.

285/75/16 tires, not 70's. They are compatible with all 16" H3 wheels. The off road roof lights are from the official GM accessory catalog.

I know there are some after market places for those lights. I have never seen them in the GM accessory Catalog. Show me where so maybe I can get one. They have been running almost $400 else where, but I'm still fairly certain they still didn't come stock on any Hummer H3's.

You're probably right about the 75's not 70's. It does effect the MPG's though. The 285/75/16 where only offered from the factory with the Adventure Package though and or the Alpha model.

Come on my H3 brother... There's nothing really wrong with bringing back this old thread... There are still people out there who want to know the difference before buying a used H3.

If the lights look like those in the picture, they were an official GM accessory.

I think GM sold off its entire Hummer accessory stock to the aftermarked when they closed the doors. That's why you see them sold by the 3rd party aftermarket now.

Pretty sure the guy didn't even have a 2007 unless they changed the location of the window controls mid-model year...
