Default Climate Control Frustratesd with a much lighter wallet

The indicator lights are the only sign of life in the controls, no fan, no airco, dead. It started about a year ago, behaving like there was a short somewhere with power intermittently. I finally took it to my local guy and he found a loose connector ($178). I had airco and fan...for a few weeks, then everything went dead. Took it to the GM dealer and they removed the front seat and looked things over pretty thoroughly but the diagnostic came back saying I needed a new fan, a new controller and a new fuse block. I had them replace the fan That day cost over $700+. Both the climate controls and fuse block are plug-and-play so I ordered those from GM ($500+) and installed them, expecting the airco to roar to life. Nada, zilch. I finally realized that the mechanic was just guessing using my money.

Any similar experiences out there? Can you replace just the wiring harness for the controls? Considering the new parts, where/how do track down the fault? Any help would be appreciated!

First place I looked. The new fuse block came with all new fuses and other electronics so we've ruled that out. As I was saying, this behaves like a short rather than a part failure.

well just cause it is new does not mean the relays fuses are installed where they need to be for your truck. different options different locations of said components on the fuse box.

Do NOT post in the FAQ section. Says so in that section stuck to the top. All H3 questions go in the H3 section.

This is not hardly and FAQ.

If you want to provide some better instructions about how to do that, I would be happy to comply.
