Default Battery Terminal Replacement

On the advice of this forum I purchased the stringer battery terminals for my H3. I took them to my mechanic to replace them. He refused to do it. Said it would be a modification and could open up a can of worms. I can’t do this work myself. Do i need to find a specialist to do this? Or should any general mechanic be able to do this? Attached are pictures of what I bought and my existing battery.

Seriously? If you have some wire cutters/strippers, sockets/nutdrivers and hex keys it's a very simple job. Fair warning...be prepared to get flamed by HUMMERZ.
B.T.W., I don't think any mechanics will do ANYTHING these days for under $100!

"modification and could open up a can of worms" in mechanic speak is NOT WORTH MY TIME, A MONKEY COULD DO IT.

1. Tell you mechanic he is a F'ing idiot and I said so. 2. I would never ever under any circumstances return to his/her business for anything.

I cannot understand why you can't cut off the old and use an Allen wrench to install the new Stingers. Can you change a lightbulb? That is about the difficulty level.

If you cannot do that, call some local stereo/electronics installers.

Agree with Doc; your "mechanic" is an f-ing idiot and you should never return to him.

How many tools do you need?
It can be done with 2: Linesman Pliers + Hex Wrench.
