Default Alternator Works, not charging the battery

Hi All,
Battery died today.
Put the charger on it and started it..
Checked output at the alternator, 13.87 volts.
Checked voltage at the battery 11.99 volts.
The alternator is working, but the charge is not making it to the battery...
The alternator lead disappears into a harness. Where does the lead go before making its way to the battery?
Any ideas what is going on with this?
Thanks for any help

Ok,I took the cable off the alternator post and thoroughly cleaned it, the post and base.It was not bad, but figured I would clean it while it was off.
Put it back on started the H3 and checked the voltage.at the alternator 13.99. At the battery 13.76. I am not so sure cleaning it fixed it...maybe moving the harness around while working on it?

How did it look where the alt attaches to the motor? I bet cleaning that up helped reground it.

Are you still running the crappy azzed OEM Battery Terminal Connectors???? If so, hack them off and replace with quality aftermarket Terminal Connectors, like Stingers or your favorite brand.

The first thing to do an every H3 is to replace the OEM Battery Terminal Connector, known to be garbage and fail. Not If, only question is when they fail.

They seem to be fine, but I will change them anyway...

Answer to your original question the alternator goes to mega fuse. Other side of mega fuse goes to battery.

Agree with other post. If you have not already done so upgrade battery clamps. Wouldn’t hurt to check ground on inner fender right behind battery and ground to engine.

Ok, I ordered some new battery terminals that should be here Friday. Doing some more troubleshooting I did notice something strange. My Meter and My OBD2 module read through Torque Pro get the exact same readings for voltage. Torque Pro uses my Radio Head Unit screen so I was monitoring my voltage.. Today I started the truck and noticed it was 11.7 Volts on Torque Pro. Shut the truck off and restarted it ... 13.8 Volts. So far today while out running errands it randomly goes under 12 volts. I stop and restart the H3 and it goes back to over 13 volts... When the terminals get here I will put them in and run a really good ground and possibly replace the power cables.. Just seems weird that restarting the vehicle temporarily fixes the problem..

I know this is not the right place to ask this. I posted in Forum Help and suggestions a while ago with no response. I made a new thread about my Android Head unit install and when making the second post a message came up that said the post needed to be moderated before it would post. The message disappeared quickly.. How can I get this fixed?

Your audio vid thread is posted, has been all along, I can view it no problems.

That is a pretty dead forum section, might have prompted a then over-ridden message about approval??? IMHO, just a forums software glitch, nothing to fix.

Ever upgrade those battery terminal connectors??
