Default 35's on H3 I5

Before I get blasted I have done. search, and I have checked other threads.

I am due for new tyres on our 2009 H3, I have been running 33" tyres for the past 6 years without any issues, and the tyres I have been using are no longer available here (Kantai Mudhog 285/75-15)

I am considering 35's at the moment, I can get 315/75-15 (35")

My car is basically stock standard, with a T Bar level.

I would love to hear personal experiences and any possible issues with the 35's as this car gets driven almost daily, and I do not need any issues. I would consider a 1" body lift if required.

Any photos of your H3 with 35's would also be greatly appreciated.

Photo attached of my H3 as it currently sits for reference.

Thanks for the comment and photos, that's the exact tyre size I am looking at at the moment.

I think I will probably go that way, I will have to get some tyres within the next few weeks.

Any other comments and photos more than welcome.

You guys got Turtles down under right? Most will be tailgating to pass after you add 35s to your I5.

I ran 305 Tires on my 07, Mickey Thompson MTZ 305 70R/16s, 33.1" diameter, same width as the 35s. Most 35s are usually like 34.5-7".

MTZ 315s on the left, 305s to the right.

Went to a tyre place today, they had no 35's in stock to look at, I really wanted to sit them next to my exisiting tyres to compare.

Thanks for the photo, they look good.

Tyre dealer recommended Federal Tyres for best value for money. (probably because he had the 33" Federals in stock)

Federals are KRAP! Wear fast, LOUD, ride like junk, etc.
No need for any kind of lift to fit a 315/75R16. As Doc said above if you want a 33 with a 11.75" contact patch a good compromise would be 305/70R16.

Tyrepower in AU has a ton of different brands. I have circled a few of the tires that will wear well and be quiet to semi quiet and have tough sidewalls for the outback.
Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ P3 would be my first pick for your situation.

I’ve had 35s on for a while, came from a JK Jeep with Dana 60s front and rear and 40s with 4.88 gears and honestly the H3 with the I5 is way more responsive than the JK.

Ran 35's on mine for a winter season.

Millage and noise were crap.

Back with my bridgstones and very satisfied.

Don’t forget to factor the difference in size when calculating gas-mileage, since the vehicle drove 5.5% to 9.5% further, for every mile clocked.
Noise=junk tires.

Is it common for H3 drivers to get the ECM calibrated for the size difference so MPH and miles is correct on the speedo?
