Air Suspension Question (2003 H2)
Good morning again folks! So, aside from the sunglasses holder issue, I also have a rear suspension problem. My service air suspension warning came on while I was driving and the rear end went down completely. The compressor was running, but I could tell it wasn't lifting the truck so I turned it off with the switch. I took it to the dealer the next day and they told me that the solenoid in the compressor went bad and I need to pay 2400 bones for a new dual compressor. The thing is the compressor runs. Is this guy full of it? I've read countless threads on here and some people say it's the bags and some say if it's sitting all the way down, you have a bad compressor. Which is it? I was getting ready to order two new OEM bags on Amazon, but now I'm a little more than concerned that the dealer wasn't trying to rip me off. Any help would be appreciated!!!

You can get the OEM springs and Insulators from gmpartsdirect.com for about $225 and that includes shipping and handling. I may go this way, but I'm hoping that someone had this same exact thing happen to them and can tell me if it's worth a shot to replace the bags and hope the compressor fills them.

Get ride of it, I would bet it's the bags if the compressor still runs. I had my fill of the airbag system it's the most problematic system on the H2

Honestly it sounds like a bag completely let go. Just get under the rear end with a spray bottle full of soapy water. if the compresser is running it should be good but it will overheat if left running full time.

Your not alone. I prefer the air ride also. I had air ride installed in previous trucks for towing to get the rear end off of the bump stops. I love the air ride and will deal with it as long as I own the vehicle.
