Hey, thanks for all the info and for finding it good to know.
Not seeing any popout in the rearview mirror. It's just quite large and the backup cam appears to the extreme left, when putting it in reverse. On the right side of the mirror is a compass and for maybe something else being there.
Does anyone know what these are worth in excellent condition?
I'm still not seeing where to post new and would like to do so, while working on the stabilizer anti-skid sensor.
All of my 08 H3s with rear camera had this rear view mirror. Yours might have been replaced when the flip out stopped working.
That has to be the case then and for seeing a lot of different ones on eBay and Amazon with none of them having this pop out screen.
The mirror does seem to be OEM or some kind of equivalent, because one of the buttons in for ON STAR.
Also wondering if there's a firmware or software update for the Nav. system which isn't working right. Address letters for instance disappear as they are used and for not allowing you to just put in any address you want. We're wanting to clear all the old stuff out of there from previous owners and for not having figured that out either. Maybe I should read the owner's manual and even though DW has been doing so, while working on it as well, eh?

Update your radio (out of the dinosaur age) to an aftermarket with camera capability and wire your own back up camera if you want one. Couple years ago I went to the Alpine ilx-650 which can run two cameras. Got an Amazon BU Cam and put it in the back bumper directly above the trailer hitch and have it shut off so I can use it when I need it. There is a newer Alpine version now with more bells.... ilx-670. No need for the antiquated Nav disc, your phone runs the Nav and always updated.

Thanks, and we're hoping for the best with it! Now, with the rearview mirror and the backup camera, I was thinking that it was a H3x thing, but then, I'm still in the learning mode here. And we'll be considering some upgrades after we own it and like it for a while, which will include the Nav system.
Oh no offence take, I hated that mirror. Swapped out the mirror on the 2nd 2008 H3 Alpha and every one following once i found out it could be done.
I actually kinda like my pop out screen on the mirror! Agree that it's not very "useful" per se, but it's still kinda cool, and everyone who rides in my truck for the first time goes "Whoa!!" when they see it. Of course, I have a different camera wired to the Kenwood stereo to actually use, so the pop out is more of a novelty.
