Luckily, was already past the tougher sections and had only smooth dirt roads left; nursed it home, checked the codes; P0452 Evap Pressure Sensor, P0641 Sensor Reference Voltage A Open, P0106 Manifold Absolute Pressure. Clearing the codes doesn't change anything, it immediately throws them again when you start it up.

BTW, I know this was a thread from January, but I wasn't sure whether to bump or start my own. Seems if someone starts a new thread here, shouts of "use the search feature" come up, but if they bump an older thread, shouts of "this is an old thread, start your own" come up. If I'm wrong here, just let me know and I'll delete this and start a new one instead. Thanks.
This is another classic example of why digging up and old thread and adding to it thinking you have the same problem confuses people in the future. You are posting about your Alpha with codes, from a thread entitled starting with :2006 H3".... Different animal, different problem(s). The TSB you referred to above was from 2012 and relates to V8 Equipped vehicles ONLY. Just pointing this out for future readers .....

Glad you got your issues under control. Carry on.

Default Mine did the same thing

I've posted this in another thread but I thought I should post it here as well. I've just cleaned up the spark plugs with petrol and now she runs fine. Mine's a h3 3.7 litre 5 cyl 2007 model. Hope this helps. Good luck.

You pulled the plugs and cleaned with petrol?

No need to pull the plugs unless they are worn. Just use a better "petrol"

Cool in cold timing and after long stop: msg: traction failed, reduced power, ..

Hello everyone!

I have my favorite car H3 model 2007. But, 5 to 6 months ago, I have the problem 5 months ago: in morning and after a long stop (7 to 8 hours), when I start the engine, it is stopped with the message on dash: service stab system, traction failed, reduced power.

if I instantly start the engine again, it did not start although all lights are on.
I wait for 20 to 30 seconds then I try starting engine. it works then stopped.

again after 20 second I start it again with pressing on the race roughly. and stopping again.

so, after 10 to fifteen minutes doing the same, it finally works.

this happens especially during the cold time with a long stop here in gulf.

any advice pls.

Go back and READ this thread, there are answers in it, there is no need to post in OLD threads.

Please use the SEARCH function.

Default Loosing my mind with this H3!

Olds & Hummerz,

Here is what I've done,

Replaced:
Throttle body (gone thru 3, in passed 6 years),
replaced pedal assembly,
speed sensor,
crank sensor,
replaced transmission,
encoder motor (3 again),
PCM (once already),
camshaft sensor,
radiator,
timing chains (front & rear),
several coils,
plugs,
cleaned ABS sensors,
replaced front wheel bearings,
All new A/C system,
Need to replace worn CV shafts....
Need to replace worn rack & pinion....

Problem:
Service Stab System
Traction Control,
Reduced Power Mode

I am fixing to rip out this POS 5 cylinder and drop in an ls1, I just wanted to keep this thing original.

Won't clear codes anymore, TCM (throttle body) says it has a 2.5v (high reading, think it should be 0v) and the other reading is the 5v for it, chased all the wires, all seem good.

Sorry don't recall the codes right now, need to hook up the OBD and get back to you.

Any other suggestions?

Are you using a brand new AC Delco Throttle Body for those previous replacements?

Forgot to mention, a LS1 won't fit, not without a LH8 oil pan. And even then, you will have substantial steering geometry issues.

Vehicle: 2006 H3 3.5L basic (manual), 82K miles

Same issues: loss of power, traction failure light comes on. Also noticed mpg dropped from 13 city to 7 city and exhaust smell continuous during operation.

April 2016 Mechanic pulled codes PO101 MAF sensor, PO326 Knock sensor and PO068 Throttle body. Examination found catalytic converter had broken and was choking engine exhaust. Replaced catalytic converter and downstream O2 sensor (437 converter, 130 O2 sensor, 3 hours labor @ 89/hour total 834). Car back to normal and still running no issues Dec 2016.

Not sure you have exact same problem, but seemed similar.
