Hummer H3For the Hummer driver who wants the rugged look and off road capabilities of the Hummer, but in a smaller size and with a more fuel economy friendly engine.
I appreciate the advice, but that was never an option. I mentioned what happened at the start of the post, but I didnt really clarify. My H3 got hit in a parking lot, I wasnt in the vehicle when it happened and there were no cameras around. Came back to my vehicle having a dented bumper and a little debris from the other vehicle. Calling my insurance was the only option there. Hence why I chose the route I did.
If my 3 got hit in a parking lot, first notify the business employees to get information along with surveillance camera footage, and/or contact the local PD for further assistance if needed.
If my 3 got rear ended while driving I would simply contact the local PD to file a report then file a claim with THEIR INSURANCE COMPANY!
Btw, my 07 Hummer with my wife's 20 GMC has full max coverage along road side assistance included on both, my current rate for both is at $354 6 months-$708 a YEAR.

Look bud, Im not an idiot. I just stated that the parking lot my vehicle was in had no cameras, nobody saw anything, etc. Calling the police would do nothing because theres no way to prove who hit my vehicle. I have good insurance with full coverage, but Ive listed the reasons I chose to opt out of using insurance. I mean no offense by this, but I didnt come here to seek advice on insurance claims and procedures to follow after an accident. Im a 40 year old grown man whos been around the block of life situations several times over. Im more financially stable and make better decisions than most people out here, have a really high credit score, and a more than adequate income.
Im not seeking life advice, I came here seeing if anyone had any information on reliable sources for new replacement parts for a rear bumper. Thats the goal here. If you can't help with that or don't have any information, this exchange isn't necessary...
Besides, there are 40 plus insurance companies to compare rates with. One bumps you premium, another will under quote them.
Spot on!
I bundle my home/auto insurance with the same company to get additional savings!
Been using GEICO for many years until my last years home insurance annual premium increased by $500.00. I have NEVER filed an insurance claim over 40yrs owning a home so my insurance premiums are low.
I contacted Geico multiple times to get the reason for the huge increase(while threatening to cancel) on my home insurance finally got it: "to recover the lost revenue with the high volume of insurance claims, there's nothing we can do to lower your cost"
I immediately cancelled Geico now insured with Allstate saving me $400 a year with more $$$$$$ coverage on my home/auto insurance.

Cool story, Jake from State Farm. Super glad I came to a Hummer forum to get all this outstanding information on my vehicle. Troll someone else please. No one cares about your insurance.

Yeah, talk about TMI. WTF does this have to do with a bumper replacement. 🙄
@JPal375 I've got a brand new, never installed O.E.M. step pad I'll sell you for $225 plus shipping. Your forum membership is too new for us to PM each other so I don't know how to contact without putting personal info in a post (which I don't want to do). I'm not sure what the minimum amount of posts you need to be able to PM another member.

I actually do appreciate the offer, and if there was a way to message you directly about it then I might have went that route. I ended up ordering the parts I needed from the dealership. My dealership here searched inventory and only found 2 impact bars showing in stock anywhere, both in Texas. One of them refused to sell it saying it was a shop part, other one is shipping me the one they had. Should be here in 4 days. I went ahead and ordered the step pad from my dealership, thats still available for order I guess. All in all, total cost was roughly $1100.
A little more than I planned to spend, but considering you cant find the impact bar new anymore since its discontinued...will still consider it a win. Thanks for the reply and the offer.
