Default 2006 h3

I have had a problem usually in winter that h3 does not start all the time. I have heard about a problem with the chip reader in the key. So I have tried tapping the key when I put it in ignition and then waiting a few seconds. But still does it. Does anyone else have problem?

Welcome to HF. I moved this the the H3 section where all H3 Tech questions go. The New Member Area is strictly for introductions.

No chip. Clean the ignition switch. If hummerz was on his game today, he would have provided you with the attached informative pic he put together.

Well, I think you’re wrong because if it doesn’t start the first time, you have to wait at least 10 minutes to try it again so it has something to do with the computer reading the key

Do you really want to know if others have the same problem, or do you want a solution to it?

Doesn't this sound like a Passlock issue since it is on a 10min interval?

What is he turning? Is that the end piece on the ignition switch?

Not the metal retainer, under that is a plastic insert that rotates -off-on-run-start. It takes the right size small blade screwdriver that will rotate the plastic insert since the metal retainer does not rotate.
