All,
2006 h3 3.5 139K miles (had since it was new)
Indianapolis
Have been seeing misfires of Cylinder 2 at idle.

OEM plugs at 120k
TB cleaned
MAF replaced OEM
replaced #2 coil OEM
Losing 1 qt of oil every 4K (dont see oil on floor, but shop keeps putting replace oil pan gasket on paperwork)

Compression test and Leak down:
#1 175
#2 150
#3 154
#4 178
#5 170

Leak down on #2 65%, hearing air out TB
Oil on plugs 3 and 4.

VIN is in the soft valve seat range.
So, compression seems ok for these miles???
Thoughts on the oil on #3 and #4 spark plugs???
(not oil in well)

Is this a cylinder head replacement with possible valve cover cleaning/replacement??
Recommended actions?

thanks for the info.

i had also filled up with 89 from BP and dropped in some redline si1. Now halfway through the tank, no change.

so assuming the valve cleaning you sent is dealer work, ask for it by name or is this similar to their induction cleaning?

i can do the seafoam cleaning no prob.

 

Yes, DIY!!! My induction cleaning IV valve controlled to slow to a drip release into a vacuum port @+1000rpm over idle in around 30mins works great.

 

 

1 qt of oil loss over 4k miles? What are you concerned about? You don't need any more gasket replacements!

 

Just like HummerZ showed but I use Chemtool. Works pretty darn good and I do it at home slow and steady.
