Default 08' H3 Roof Rack lock keys?

Just purchased an 08' H3 Alpha but the keys missing for the roof rack locks. Is there a generic key for these locks? I thought I could read the letters on the key locks, "SP". I could be mistaken. Thanks in advance for the assistance.

If it is the OEM rails it'll be marked SP#, # will be 1-4. You can buy the key on ebay or at a local locksmith.

If it is SP1, I have one I'll give you, bought it to get a set of rails from a junkyard but the guy decided not to sell them without the entire rack and wanted too much.

HumbleAg,

Great! Thanks for offering the SP1 key, I will verify the markings on the locks as I tried to read them early this morning. My Chevrolet parts dealer responded by saying these were aftermarket items and not OEM?

I might think about avoiding that Chevy dealer..... most of the racks, GM and otherwise are all made by the same manufacturer. The Asian knock offs are pretty easy to spot.

Thanks HumbleAg received the key earlier this week. Stiff lock mechanisms will try a lock lubricant to loosen them up.

Hi,
just thought I’d throw this out there in case someone, cough Doc Olds cough, may know. I was at the dealer for my sp4 key and they said discontinued but he let me peak behind the curtain.
The vendor code was N106 for my sp4 key. N106 is a common Thule key and sells for $3-6, and locksmiths have that code and can print on site. Now I’m going to find out tomorrow if it works and can update accordingly.
take care
