Default '08 H3 Alpha Adventure blowing TCCM fuse 12

I have had an intermittent fuse 12 blow for the past year+. It is not consistent, sometimes it will go for months without blowing the fuse, then it might blow 2-3 times in fairly quick succession. It only seems to blow on startup. There has been only once in more than 24 times it seems to have blown during running after starting. All other times it shows up immediately after starting the vehicle. This causes the Stability / Traction system error messages. Replace the 30 amp fuse 12 and all is well again.

I had the Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) replaced with no change in behavior.

Has anyone experienced this problem and or know or have suggestions? Appreciate any input you might have.

Take a close look at the encoder motor/wiring.

Do you have a sunroof that has leaked onto the passenger side floor?

I have had that leak on the driver side a year ago and had the tube in the A post cut out. I have not had a noticeable leak since. I am not aware of any leaking on the passenger side.

What was your thought?

Thanks for your response.

You are burning 30amp fuses, should be easy to find the short, @30amps there's most likely a burnt smell too. If you already checked the wiring at the encoder, go back to the UHFB trace the orange wire, looking for exposed wire/burnt insulation.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am going to trace the wires/harness this week.

What is odd is that it only happens when I start the engine. There may have been 1 time it occurred while driving.

I can't see the aftermarket wiring you have installed??? Post pictures of the wiring going to your battery & uhfb(under hood fuse box).
