Question HELP-Remove the rear audio/climate control panel?

I could really use some Help! I have a 2008 Hummer H2 SUT and need some advice from you pros out there. The REAR Audio/Climate Control Panel, (located in the center console), has broken free from it's mount and is just hanging in limbo and driving me nuts. I'm assuming the clips that hold it in place have come loose. Is there an EASY way to get to the Audio/Climate Control Panel in order to secure it back into place? Can I just pry/pop off the plastic around the console (under the leather arm rest area) or am I going to have to remove everything above the control panel to get to it? I've seen diagrams that make it look like I have to take the whole thing apart to get to it.

BTW, I did find a Youtube video of a Hummer H2 with the same issue I'm having. In his video, he had a hidden cupholder compartment under the 2 usb ports where hidden screws would give you quick access to the panel, making it look so easy (His video:
). Unfortunately, my H2 does not have cup holders in the rear console-thus no hidden screws for easy removal and access...so, I don't know where to begin. Any H2 Super Hero's out there that can help me?

Thanks, for starting this thread. I don't have any advice or tips right now, but I will do my own research on this.

@vhinson31@msn.com - Please see this thread where we discuss pulling that rear panel apart! I've pulled this out a couple times... let me know questions after you check the thread... the center console for the SUT is the same as the SUV... The hardest part is pulling the connectors from the Climate control...

Thread: https://www.hummerforums.com/forum/hummer-h2-8/how-get-rear-ac-display-rca-inputs-2008-a-44957/page2/

The rear climate control is connected to the rear cover by four screws. If it has detached then either the screw tabs on the climate control are broken or the screws have pulled out of the holes on the panel...
  • If you need a new rear climate control, you will need to hunt for Part # 15886276 which has been discontinued and is different from the one used on the SUV. GMPartsGiant says they have one so give them a call and see here -- never used them so cannot vouch for them...
  • If the rear cover is broken, then you can get those on eBay - they pop up occasionally, of course it is a discountinued part as well. The part without cup holders is 15274738 and the part from the 09 with cup holders is 20794348. Most H2 dismantlers sell the entire center console and I see two of those listed on eBay... but that is a lot to pay to get just that cover...
  • I noticed your cigarette lighter covers are broken off... you can get those direct from GM or Amazon - Part # 10364311
