What do you mean by "better"?

"Better" durability? LQ4 (iron block)
"Better" fuel economy? L92 (aluminum block)
"Better" 0-60? L92
"Better" under the hood for a longer time, clocking more miles? LQ4

LQ4: '03-'07
L92: '08-'09

I've played around with both,
If I had to choose the L92 would be the one

latest design and VVT

some would say VVT is the failure point. lifters get stuck and wipe out cams just as bad as the dodge heme's

Your thinking of AFM or DOD, L92 does not have fuel management
VVT is managed by the cam phaser
