Just got the winch installed back using a quick connector. ..

May be a dumb question but it is my first winch
I tight the line to the bumper hook and pulled withe the winch till it is tight enough to prevent the winch mount to move in the receiver ... leave it engage is that ok or should have some play and leave it free

Also leave yhe quick connector disconnected

 

Sorry the typos but posting using the cell while in the car (not driving) isn't an easy task

 

glad it is coming around for you! i wouldnt crank it super tight but snug will be fine.

Now Im crazy driving around looking for someone stuck so I can use it without getting my truck muddy

Was on the boat ramp to launch the jetski this weekend .
It is a sandy ramp so Usually there is one or two guy who needs help . I was hoping to use the winch but bad luck noone was stuck

I guess the next step is getting to the mud
