Hummer H2For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

The most foolproof is to determine the correct FCC ID that you need and then make sure what you are buying has the same FCC ID since that # is for the specific licensed frequency. If you have an original remote then it should have an FCC # on the back of it. If it does not then (at minimum the casing) the remote is not an original one.
the H2 was delivered w/ just one key (it looks like a household key, like there isn't a anti-theft pellet builtin) no FOB. so I can't retrieve any #s off FOB. is the shape and style of FOB for a 07 like the shape I link to.
place I'm ordering from has free returns so I'm not out but a little time to send back if it doesn't work.I have more confidence in e-bays saying it works for a 07 than this other place. will report back w/ results.
thanks
The fobs are not a lot of $$$ so probably worth a try.
Googled fobs and this site popped-up, you might be able to glean some information from there.
Regarding "anti-theft pellet" you refer to, this looks analogous to the H2 Passlock system, digging into the subject I found this comment (don't know if it's valid)
"The GM Passlock system is an electronic security device that prevents vehicle theft by disabling fuel to the engine if attempts are made to start the vehicle without the correct key.1 The system uses a normal metal key and recorded voltage measurement through a Hall Effect sensor to determine if the lock cylinder is aligned and in place during vehicle running.
The owners manual says:-
"Passlock® is a passive theft-deterrent system. Passlock® enables fuel if the ignition lock cylinder is turned with a valid key. If a correct key is not used or the ignition lock cylinder is tampered with, the fuel system is disabled and the vehicle will not start."
"Valid Key" suggests something elaborate, however I had a similar problem, the only compatible key the local locksmith had was a plain metal Chrysler key (UK) which worked fine, I've since bought fobs and keys from eBay without any issues.
So I checked out the keyfobs on Amazon. Most are fake and reviewed poorly by REAL reviews. Too cheap to be true at $9 and free shipping. With a range of 3 feet.
Some like the "OEM Electronic" version seem to me to be rebuilt units with non-oem outside plastic and rebuilt OEM electronics inside? Not sure.
the number does not mean anything. they are assigned in the order you program them to the vehicle so you can program number 2 in number ones place if you are not looking at the numbers.
Simply check FCC ID & part # I've never had a problem with any replacement RKE's received from eBay! I've purchased many for around $5usd each on eBay, for different vehicles over the years. I added 2 to my 3.
Research & buy the correct RKE(at the best price available), receive it, program it. Done.
