Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

Will 37/12.50/17's fit on a stock H2?

Default Will 37/12.50/17's fit on a stock H2?

I have four, barely used 37/12.50/17's in my garage all mounted and balanced. I'm wondering if these will fit on my stock H2 that right now has 315/70/17's on it (no suspension lift, no body lift, nothing) . I do know that the 37's are a little over 2-1/2 inches larger in diameter which will reduce the clearance between the tire and the wheelwell by around 1-1/8 inches. I know I could just go put 'em on and find out, but that's a lot of work and I thought I would check with the experts first. My inclination is that they will fit, but it's likely that I would need to be careful when turning near lock to lock.

Thanks!

I don't know about 37s being 2.5" larger diameter than 35s, as it would depend on tire brands and models being compared.

However................... yes, I know many H2 people that run 37s. The old Tire & Wheel section is dead, keep your H2 related questions over here. Let's see what others say.

I'm guessing they'll fit just fine. I'm running 37/13.50/20 on my 07 stock suspension. I get a small rub on the front sway bar when turning with locked steering. My wheels are factory 09 H2 20" wheels.

Here's a great tire size calculator you can use for all tire size comparisons.

I have 37 x 13.5 x 24 and they rub on the fender liner when I turn them most of the way, or if I pull into a driveway at speed while turning (as the truck bounces up/down). It's not so much that I have done any trimming on the plastic - I just live with it.

I have 37x12.5r20s on stock suspension and they only rub on the fender liner at full lock and hitting a large bump. I have the inner inside corners detatched from the clip and held with a zip tie for a little more room, but yes they fit just fine.

Hello. First, Happy Memorial Day weekend. Second, did you have the re-gear the axles to accommodate the 37inch tires?

I did nothing yet. My speedo runs about 3-4mph faster than my actual speed according to my GPS.

I appreciate the reply. I am planning on putting 37's on my 09 H2. I had a 05 H2, in which the previous owner already installed a lift kit on her with 38 x 113.50 R22 tires. I wasn't sure if the previous owner re-geared the H2 or not, but she didn't struggle at all going up steep hills and overpasses.
