Default What is involved with installing an OEM grill guard?

I bought a chrome OEM grill guard for my '03 H2. What is involved with mounting it? It sounds like the holes are already drilled from the factory and it is a matter of removing some plastic in the front and simply bolting it on and then reattaching the black plastic trim/covers.

Any pictures/links/advice is appreciated.

Thanks,
Todd

Yep! Thats all there is to it. There are 4 bolts that go in on the front at the base of the 2 vertical posts. Then there are 2 mounting brackets that help stabilize each of the vertical posts that are secured with some screws and nylon nuts. Im at work today, if I get time tomorrow, I will try and upload some pics for you.

If your Hummer never had a grill on it.... you most likely will have to trim the mini grille...

Sorry for bringing up an old thread. The above was invaluable for me, i need to now find something to trim away the excess plastic on the lower grill guard. One question though, others online are saying you can just pull the lower grill off and it will suddenly pop off, but the instructions above in one of the links is saying you need to use pliers to squeeze the clips from the back (i.e. hood open), anyone got anything to add to this ? I mean will the thing just pop off if i tug it ? I can't afford to lose any clips as I am abroad, and don't have easy access to GM parts.

You can just pull it off. If you find that the plastic feels like it is going to break ( and it likes too). Flip the hood and you will see the clips over the plastic studs. Squeeze the clips with a pair of needle nose and push them through. If it is cold where you are be extra gentle.

Hope this helps and I've understood what you are asking.
