What is this device that attaches to the rock rail on the driver side of an H2?
Hummer H2For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.
What is this device that attaches to the rock rail on the driver side of an H2?
I recently removed the rock rails from one of my H2's. On the driver's side, I noticed this small device. It is mounted on the rock rail. Anyone know what it is or what it does?
My first thought was, when someone removes the rock rails and replaces them with power folding steps, what do they do to secure this part?
Mine just hangs as my steps have rotted and been removed completely. I'm sure that can be secured somehow, I just haven't got to it yet (been driving all of 2020 too).
I'm having my rails professionally powder coated and they are taking longer than expected. I was wondering if it's okay to drive around without the vapor canister attached to anything. I guess you've answered my question.
I did the vent and solenoid on mine. Then took it in to do emissions and had to have the fuel pressure sensor replaced. All good. . . . But the tech said that the fuel hoses at the tank are going to need replacing in the very near future. I bought a new pick-up assembly and tank straps, but he said that I would have to replace the hoses at the same time, as they likely fail on disconnection.
