Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

Default Want to upgrade my H2 car stereo but keep the bose system

Hi, I am looking for a powerful car stereo to upgrade my original factory radio. On the markets, there are many car stereos stated that they are compatible with my Hummer H2 2008.

However, few of them mentioned if they are compatible with the original Bose and Onstar car stereo except XTRONS PBX70JCC. Is it the best car stereo for my Hummer H2 2008? I am not tech savvy, want to learn more about it before I pay for it.

Go to Crutchfield and get their kits. I replaced my head unit with a Sony and it still sues the Bose speakers. Onstar also works.

I bought one xtrons for my GMC 2 years ago, similar model but with Android 8.0. It has built-in equalizer, i can turn the sound exactly how i like it. Loud and clear. I don't have BOSE though. It is a great piece of electronics with good configuration. Highly recommend XTRONS

I have a 2007 H2 SUT, with Bose LUX, I pulled my factory head unit #15800000 due to cracked screen and replaced with a after market med priced double din unit.. Please spend the extra $100 and buy the "Metra" interface wiring harness, its actually like $85.00 in Houston at Installer.com I picked mine up but they ship anywhere, it lets you retain all the "factory" crap bells alerts etc and depending on the replacement headunit you buy you can add back the steering controls for like $35.. same brand same vendor has all in stock, call them tell em what you got and they will make sure they sell you the correct parts ... I prefer the metra brand, it was a little more money than say the scosche brand but I think Metra is much higher quality installation for me was flawless ...without a interface harness forget about it, just a wiring nightmare that you will never solve the long-term intermittent after effects of not using the harness interface to begin with.. I only refer the guys at Installer because they were their when i needed them and had the **** in stock

Definitely use Crutchfield! They have vehicle specific harnesses that work with factory wiring and OEM features of the vehicle.
I went with a Kenwood Excelon double din with DVD/ Nav/ Sirius/ Apple car play/ Android auto and kept the Bose system initially. Then upgraded the factory speakers a while later.
Just as Stace723 put it - Integrated steering wheel controls - used the Metra brand wire harness. Worked like a champ.
And when you buy from Crutchfield, they'll send you all the install documents for the Hummer, all wires are color-coded, and their tech support is available should you ever need help.
