Turbo vs Supercharger

Hello everyone, I am looking to put some performance parts on my 04 H2. I have been contemplating putting twin turbos on my truck while I'm upgrading my exhaust. I have looked at a few supercharger kits as well. What have or would you guys go with and why? Thanks.

There are quality bolt on supercharger kits made for your truck, is there a turbo kit available with a track record, or is it a homemade kit from Joe's turbo emporium and bait shop?

Don't get me wrong, I love turbos and used to be in that business years ago. I have seen some horrible turbo setups. Done right, both should get you the performance you desire.

Main point I'd consider is that a supercharger is generally able to make and add power at a much lower RPM. So if you are building up you H2 into a race truck where you want power when it is wide open at 3000+ RPM then a turbo would be an excellent option. If you are wanting power across a much broader range of RPM's then I'd argue that a supercharger would be the better option.

Then you can get into the roots type versus centrifugal type superchargers.... each has their own pros and cons and those who will argue for each type.

Thanks for the advice. Will a supercharger damage my transmission? I am using my hummer for work and it's doing a great job for its designated function. I am not a mechanic so I would hate to do something to my truck that I couldn't fix.

at 18 years old i would be pretty sure the tranny will fail sooner if not the transfer case.how fast do you really want to sling 9000 pounds around?

How does someone gather a 9000# H2. Did the weight go down when they made my 08 H2. I keep hearing weights from 4 something thousand to now 9000. I just am confused now. Thanks if you can clear this up.

Curb weight is the actual weight off the assembly line without payload(passengers, cargo, add on accessories, etc)
Gross weight= CURB WEIGHT + PAYLOAD.

Not sure how that would drive at 8600 lb. I was at 8000 lb and the thing is as slow as a slug.

Funny, mileage did not change on the 600 mile circuit with the load.
