Would a transmission(9FFD which I believe to be out of a camaro) work on my H2 while the original is being rebuilt? It's lost 3/4 but I need it back on the road ASAP, and being in the UK, parts/rebuilt box's are not readily available

 

that would take a bit of work, your truck is 4WD and the car is not, the output shaft will be different.

As legerwn mentioned, It's possible but your gonna have to change some parts, the H2 doesn't use a trans with a tail cone and has a short rear shaft that directly fits into the spline on the xfer case. If you interested in trying it check out this video:
