Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

Default Transfer case question.

New guy same old h2 issue. Transfer case was stuck in 4hi lock. Took trans case motor off and it wasn’t moving, replaced trans motor shifter and still locked in 4hi lock. Will shift into 4 low and back to 4hi lock but not regular 4hi. I’m lost and need a place to start. Any ideas?

have you tried switching it by hand with the motor out?

Trans in neutral and rocking the truck by hand,

really not much just throwing things out there that I would try

Don’t remember the code but it was bad transfer case encoder. So the motor. Replaced the motor but still won’t engage out of 4hi lock. Haven’t tried flat surface removal and trying by hand, not very educated in the AWD world.

when the motor was shipped it was placed in the 4 hi position prior to shipping, did you turn it to get it installed?

Should have turned the transfer case to line it up with 4 hi,

When you drive it does it feel like its in 4 hi lock?

Yes it’s in hi lock. To be honest I have no idea if the transfer case was turned. I think maybe I should put the case in 4 hi after taking the motor off, line up the spindle and see what I got then. Maybe that’s the ticket

Only goes on 1 way to line the bolts up and secure. POST THE CODE!

I know the motor only mounts one way, was talking about lining up the innards, code was C0327

Attached is from the GM eSI system... Sounds like either a shorted wire, bad encoder, or the transfer case shaft is binding or unable to move.
