Default Trailer Lights Wont Work-Blown Fuses

Hello,
I am trouble shooting my 2007 H2. The trailer lights stopped working all of a sudden, only the right turn signal will work. All lights on the vehicle are working except the front left side marker light. I was able to find one fuse that was blown, the Trailer Park (TRL Park) under the hood. im using a 7 pin Tow Tester to check the wiring. seems like I cannot get the "12V" and "LT" to ever light up even though all fuses seem to be good.("BK" works, not pictured)

I thought that I could live with the "LT" not working for the time being so I tried to plug in my Trailer to see if the other lights were working, It immediately blew the "TRL Park Fuse" once again, and only the "RT" works as of now. any help would be appreciated .

have you checked the harness that goes from the tow hitch socket to the bottom of the body? pull them and check for corrosion.

The 12v one is tied to one of the big square fuses for the 2 auxiliary studs.... I forget which one it is connected to on our H2's.

On that link - the picture shows the fusebox without the shroud on it and illustrates the two auxiliary studs and the fuses for them. On my GMC truck (identical electrical system on the GM trucks and SUV's) the trailer harness 12V was not even connected to a stud, it was coiled up under the fusebox from the factory.

If you immediately blow the TRL Park Fuse (trailer parking lights) when you plug your trailer in, but the tester does not blow it than you probably have something shorted in your trailer wiring. Could be in the wiring or even a crushed bulb (I've seen a trailer get back into something before and smashed the lights which immediately blew fuses in the vehicle..).

I tried to check what you are talking about, I was just able to follow the cable to a larger harness which goes to the front of the vehicle. didn't seem like there was much that I could inspect .

thanks for the info. in my vehicle, there is a little red plug in the stud 1 fuse location. stud #2 fuse is in place and looks fine.
