still cant buy 4.88 for IFS?!
I am having a major dilemma with trying to get a hold of any 4.88 gears for the IFS of my 9.25 for the H2
Ive had an order in with TrailDuty.com since the beginning of Feb 2013 and they are still not able to receive any sort of order from the manufacture.
Ive called many of other places (probably about 15) and no one is able to get me a 4.88 gear for the 9.25 IFS.
I have been forced to drive it in 2wd due to me blowing the front end apart in feb. while i was rebuilding it i wanted to run 4.88's. the rear has been done since then and still awaiting for the front.
its ridiculous!

I have not recieved my gears for the 9.25 IFS.
I was forced to get a refund and wait still.
I called summitracing.com and told them about the issue I am having. They say it can take up to 3 weeks.
They seem a little more assuring...

How is your truck doing with just 2WD? Did you take the front diff out completely while you wait for the gears to show up? Leaking any fluid from transfer case if you did?
I'm still waiting for my front 4.88's but have my rears sitting here. I'm ripping my transmission out today to start rebuilding it and figured I might put the rear 4.88's in and maybe just disconnect the front driveshaft. My front diff has a shot out support bushing that I need to replace anyway and I can't seem to find a replacement(Rancho lift parts - Rancho is definitely no help). When I went to take the U-Joint saddle bolts off, the whole diff would roll from the torque.
