Default Steering Column replacement/upgrade 08

It’s been a few months since I’ve replaced my steering box and pitman arm. I’ve still got maybe half an inch of free play when measuring the top of the wheel. I could narrow it down to whatever the joint is in the top of the column behind the steering wheel that allows for tilt and whatnot.

It’s only half an inch at most and maybe I’m being too picky but from videos I’ve seen of other trucks, this should be perfectly tight. I did the adjustment with the two screws an added some loctite, but it just comes loose again after a day. Also if I tighten it just enough so it doesn’t wiggle, if I tilt the wheel up or down it becomes hard to turn. This leads me to believe it’s just plain worn out.

Does anyone know of an upgrade solution or even where I could find a replacement?

Did you double check your lower steering column? The joint on it, plus make sure that pinch bolt where it connects to the gearbox is tight....

I tilted it where I wanted, used a lot of loctite, and dealt with it. I think this time the loctite held.

Hmm, interesting. Thank God, my steering is nice and tight, but I've just had a custom lift kit installed in my 09 H2. Keep us posted on your progress.
