2003 Hummer H2. Put a new Sony MultiMedia Head Unit in and finding an issue were the sound will randomly cut out completely. No audio though unit is still powered and operating normally sans sound. Its corrected immediately w a stop start key recycle.
I haven't pulled the console yet to check that the harness connections are good but plan to. Curious if anyone has seen similar and what the cause was. I am assuming the amp is cutting out so maybe just the harness connection to amp. I also know there is a very very old TSB around this exact issue but it didnt happen w factory head unit and though I just got the H2 I cant imagine this TSB if present wasn't addressed long ago by previous owner.
Figure I would ask prior to pulling it back out and checking the obvious harness connections. I used butt plugs and proper crimping tool instead of soldering each but starting to second guess that choice.

the usual suspect is the adapter kit. PAX was having similar issues many complaints on it.

 

Perfect advice. Turns out the CRUX interface Crutchfield pitched me sucked *****. Twice no less. I ended up ordering a Metra and problem solved.
