Default Problem with 2004 Hummer H2 Driver Mirror

Need help with 2004 Hummer H2... The driver side rear view mirror does not fold in or out. The R side works fine. I can adjust both mirrors without a problem. I can manually fold the mirror in and out. I do not hear the motor working at all when i press the button , only the R works. Is this a problem with the door module switch or is the motor that folds the side mirror dead... I don't think there is a fuse that controls only the folding motor.. Can someone tell me what to do ??Thanks

most likely it is the motor especially if it is the first gen mirrors.

Did both of my mirror arms using this video.

On the RHS I used silicon grease, on the left a special industrial grease specifically for metal to plastic gears.

Just occasionally in cold weather the LHS sticks 1st time, so silicon is the winner.

Take your time, have some small drills (around 0.04") and some small self-tapping screws to match, oh and btw don't loose the little ball bearing!

Good luck!

I watched the video. Great step by step guide to replace the mirror folding motor. I'll let you know if I achieve the task...
Thanks

Good luck, I hope you get it fixed.

Not sure how much a new mirror-arm costs but it must be $500 plus,

So it make look like a very tedious procedure, but saving hundreds of dollars must be worth and you keep it original
