Opinion, 2006 or 2008 H2
Im am looking for opinions, I current have a 2006 H2 SUT Lux with just about every option including air suspension, the vehicle has 130k and is in premier shape and in the Green (Wheat and Gray matching interior)
I have an oppertunity to pick up an 08 Base (white, black inside) with under 80k for a good price and in good condition, my question is, is the 6.2 and 6 speed and lower mileage worth probably the 15k difference (after selling mine) for the newer one with less options?
I love my H2 SUT and plan on driving it until the wheels fall off then bolting them back on and driving more. My concern is with the 06 interior plastic parts that are impossible to find and replace for reasonable prices.
The other issue is the time, effort and money to get the 08 with less stuff and its insurance value. If I total mine tomorrow I would stand to be ok, but on the 08 I would immediately loose 15k. any and all opinions appreciated.

If money isn't your main holdback, I would opt for the 08 with low miles. The 6.2 is a far better powerplant and the transmission as well. Increase in MPG's with close to 400HP.
I personally like the 08/09 interior layout much better than my 07.
I'm also thinking about upgrading to the 08/09 even though I have $32K invested in my 07 with 105,000 miles.
It will most likely be a good investment as they didn't make many of the 08/09's, and here in Colorado we are seeing H2 prices rise quite fast. This all my opinion though.
Good luck.

Thx Zenith, depending on how the inspection pans out I think I will pull the trigger on this, So far it does have a minor front diff half shaft leak but I have replaced one of these before on my old Tahoe and its not a big deal.
White is kinda boring and I will miss the green/wheat and my air suspension but I guess its a small price to pay for the better engine and increased fuel economy especially since Biden killed the pipeline and gas prices have started going thru the roof.

I agree on Biden and restore the 06. I would love the 6.2 engine and 6 speed but will keep my 05 Lux till I die.

I've had two '06 Hummers and now have an '08. The '08 is better in so many ways; much more power w/ a (Diablo) ECU/TCU tune and much smoother shifts. Both of my '06's vibrated and made a lot of noise over 70 mph, and the '08 rides much quieter at speeds above 80 mph w/ no issues. I also went from a great Pacific Blue to White in the '08 but it still looks great. It seems like you're going from the SUT to the SUV and that may make the biggest difference to you. Best of luck w/ your decision!

I haven't yet received the cold air intake from them but just the upgraded ECM is awesome.

Zenith, that's very interesting, I was under the impression the 07 had the LQ9 which was also the same engine as used in the 06 Escalade which had better specs then the LQ4 used in the original H2's up to 2006 and that would explain why it does so well with a tune, I am sure the cold air kit should help, add some dual exhaust and I will bet you will be pushing more power then the L92.
I looked at a tuner for the 06 some time ago when I bought my edge monitor but was told it's kinda a waste on the 06's and older H2's.
Waiting for the final details on the 08, hopefully all goes well and I will pick it up next week.
