Oil pressure gauge
Chances are the instrument cluster is defective. I've seen oil pressure gauge inaccurate readings due to connector/wiring to ops, defective ops, pcv blockage, and blocked oil pump pickup screen. You could do some simple tests to see if it changes, remove oil filler cap and start engine or disconnect ops connector and start engine.
Agreed - probably the stepper motor in the cluster. Fairly easy to replace if you are competent with a soldering iron. But as hummerz said, could be the sending unit, or other possible issues. Needle dropping to the bottom like that makes me think the stepper motor on the cluster itself though.
Go to Ebay - you will find where you can send the entire cluster to.... Choose the vendor that has best reviews and replaces all the stepper motors and light bulbs while they are in there..
Usually fairly cheap & that cluster is easy to remove from the vehicle.
