New Spicer U Joint Review
Hi Hummer Team, The front Spicer U joints are part # 5-795X. The brackets for the joints are slightly different sizes. The front will not fit on the rear ask me how I know.
Smoother acceleration was noticeable after installed.

Spicer is the Bomb!!! My 65 Corvette with a 502 BB has 6 "U" joints!! All Spicer. So if your going to have any weirdness, You'll notice it right away. Years back before replacing the "U" Joints, I noticed some noise coming from the passenger side tunnel. Being a Corvette of the Midyear vintage, the engineers decided to move the tranny tunnel slightly to the right giving the driver more operating room when working the clutch ...Brake ..and Go pedal.
Good idea except that with chassis flex and dips and bumps in the road the "U" joint coming out of the manual trans hits the fiberglass insulation in the tunnel and works its way thru to the fiberglass. Took me a while to figure WTF noise is that? One day on the lift I noticed the torn up insulation and scrape marks on the tunnel.
Further examination revealed that the "U" joint was Farked. That's when I replace them all with Spicer. That was over 15 years ago. Still going strong. Maybe the Engineers decided that would be a good idea to have the tunnel make noise like the built in metal thang in GM brake pads that rub on the rotor and make a loud squeal to let you know it's time to renew your pads....LMAO

About 30 years ago when I was a little tight for cash, I bent those little noise maker tabs on my 1986 Camaro to buy me some time. Completely forgot about it. It was almost 2 years later when the brake pad backing plate started to rub. LOL
